Letter to the Friends of the Cross
[1] Divine Cross Since I have hidden and forbidden me to speak, I can not, and neither desire- speak, to express to the feelings of my heart on the excellence of the Holy Cross and practices that will enable you to join us in the Cross of Jesus Christ adorable.
But today, the last day my retirement, I go, so to speak, the charm of my interior, and stroke in this short paper some darts of the Cross, to pass through your blessed hearts. God wanted them not to penetrating ink of my pen, but with the blood of my veins. Alas, although she was needed, too criminal. For let the Spirit of God living the life, strength and essence of this letter. Be your holy anointing their ink. Be my pen Divine Cross, and paper are your hearts.
[I. - Excellence joining the Friends of the Cross]
Friends of the Cross, are deeply attached, like so many soldiers crucified, to combat the world (+ Gal 6.14). Do not you flee you it, as religious, for fear of being defeated, but as courageous and brave warriors avanzáis on the battlefield without a step back and not turning back. Courage! Fight with courage! Unite
strongly, and your unity of minds and hearts will be infinitely stronger and more terrible against the world and hell, what could be the army of a well united kingdom against enemies of the state. If the demons come together to lose you, unite to scare you. If greedy people come together to trade and earn gold and silver, unite your efforts to win the eternal treasures contained in the Cross. If the Libertines together to have fun, unite you to suffer.
[A. Majesty of the name of Friends of the Cross]
[3] I call Friends of the Cross. What big name! I love and dazzles me. It's brighter than the sun, higher than the heavens, more glorious and solemn most formidable titles of kings and emperors. Sublime is the name of Jesus Christ, true God and true man at the same time. It is the unmistakable name of Christian.
[4] But if its light dazzled me, the fact remains that weight scares me. Many duties and hard-ment unexcused enclosed in that name, according to the Holy Spirit says: "a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, own people "(1 Pet 2.9).
A Friend of the Cross is a man chosen by God to the ten thousand who are in the sense and reason alone to be a man fully divine, that goes beyond reason, and they are adamantly opposed to the mere inclination sensible for a life and a light of pure faith and ardent love for the Cross.
A Friend of the Cross is a powerful king, is a hero who triumphs over evil, the world and the flesh in its three lusts (+1 Jn 2.16). In loving humiliation, drives the pride of Satan. To love poverty, greed overcomes the world. To love the pain, kill the sensuality of the flesh.
A Friend of the Cross is a holy man and separated from everything visible, whose heart is elevated above all perishable and perishable, and whose conversation is in heaven (Phil. 3.20). Go through this land like a stranger and a pilgrim, and clings to it with indifference, and steps with contempt.
A Friend of the Cross is a great achievement of Jesus Christ, crucified at Calvary, together with his Mother. Ben-Oni is a son of pain, or Ben-Ja-min, son of the right hand [or Buenaventura: Gen 35.8], born of his aching heart, come into the world through his pierced side, and clothing in the purple of their blood. In short, a perfect Friend of the Cross is a true carrier-Christ, or better, a Jesus Christ, who can say with truth: "I no longer live but Christ lives in me" (Gal 2.20 .)
[5] My dear Friends of the Cross, "are you by your actions what it means to your great name? Or at least you have a real desire and a genuine desire to come to be, with the grace of God, in the shadow of Calvary's Cross and Our Lady of Sorrows? "You use the necessary means to achieve it? Have you entered the true path of life (Prov 6.23, 10.17, Jer 21.8), which is narrow and thorny road to Calvary? Or do you walk, without giving account, the world wide road that leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13-14)? "You know that there is a way that seems right and safe for humans, but that leads to death (Prov 14.12)?
[6] Do you know a clear distinction between the voice of God and his grace, and the voice of the world and nature? "You listen to God's voice clearly, our good father, who, having cursed three times those following the wishes of the world," ay, ay, ay of the inhabitants of the earth "(Rev 8.13), calls you with love, tendiéndoos arms, "separate, people mine! sit in his chair foul! You do not go to meetings! Do not go by his ways (Ps. 1.1)! Flee from the vast and infamous Babylon (Is 48.20; Jer 50.8; 51,6.9.45; Ap 18.4)! Do not listen to another voice or other signs that you follow my beloved Son! I gave it to be your way, your truth, your life and your model: "listen" Chandler " (Mt 17:5; 2Pe 1.17).
"You listen to this kind Jesus? Loaded with his Cross, I scream: "Come after me" (Mt 4.19), and follow me, that "whoever follows me will never walk in darkness" (Jn 8.12)! "Take heart: I have overcome the world" (16:33).
[C. "To take up his cross"]
[18] "take up his cross", with his own. That this guy, this man, this remarkable woman - "the whole earth, from one extreme to another, not be enough to pay" (Prov 31.10] - take it with joy, embracing with enthusiasm and carried on his shoulders with courage his cross, and not that of another,-his own cross, to my knowledge that which I have made, number, weight, and accurate (+ Sat 11.21], "his cross, whose four dimensions, thickness and length, width and depth, I traced my own hand accurately, "the cross, I've made a piece that took on Calvary, as an expression of infinite love I have for him," his cross, which is the greatest gift I can do my chosen this earth-his cross, formed in its thickness by the loss of property, humiliation and contempt, pain, disease and spiritual penalties, which by my providence, must befall every day until death, "his cross, formed in its length for some time of months or days you will be overwhelmed by calumny, lying in bed, reduced to begging, the victim of temptations, dryness, abandonment and other spiritual penalties, "his cross, formed in the width of all the circumstances hard and bitter, sometimes by their friends, some by domestic or family, his cross, in short, made in depth by the hidden afflictions that I will punish him, but may find comfort in creatures as these, by my order, I turn away and join me to make you suffer.

[For sinners]
[21] In fact, dear Friends of the Cross, you are all sinners. Among you there is none that does not deserve hell (+ Prov 24.16; 1 John 1.10], and I more than anyone. Now it is necessary that our sins are punished in this world or the other.
If God agrees with us, it punishes them, the punishment is love: that mercy which reigns in this world who will be punished, not strict justice is thus a mild punishment and passenger comforts and merits accompanied and followed by rewards in time and eternity.
(22] But if the necessary punishment for the sins we have committed is reserved for another world, then justice is implacable of God, that everything takes blood and fire, which carry out the sentence. Terrible punishment (+ Heb 10.31], unspeakable, incomprehensible, "Who knows the power of your anger?" (Ps 89.11]; punishment without mercy (James 2.13], without mitigation, without merit, without limit and without end. Yes , will have no end: the mortal sin of a moment you made, the volunteer who escaped evil thought in your care, that word which was the wind that tiny action that violated the law of God, so soon they will be punished for eternity, while God is God, the demons in hell without such a God of vengeance have mercy on your terrible torments of your sobs and tears, able to cleave the rocks. [23] Dear my brothers and sisters, do we think about that when we suffer some pain in this world? How happy we are to make a change so happy, an eternal and fruitless sorrow for another passenger and worthwhile, taking this cross with patience! We still have many debts to pay! How many sins! To atone for them, even after a bitter contrition and a sincere confession, it is necessary to suffer in purgatory for centuries, for having contented in this world with some penance as light! Ah! Cancel, then, our debts for good in this world, doing well in our cross. In the other, everything will be paid by the poor, every cent (5.26 Mt], until an idle word (12.36). If we can start from the hands of the devil's book of death (+ Col 2.14), which stated all our sins and grief to them due, what should such a huge find! And what we would be happy to suffer for years down here, so as not to suffer a single day in the afterlife!
[To the friends of God]
preciáis you not, my friends of the Cross, to be friends of God or want to become one? So I decided to drink the cup must necessarily rush to be made friends of God, "drank the cup of the Lord and became friends of God" [Breviary old]. [To the children of God]
[25] I gloriáis rightly become children of God. Glory, then, also from the scourges that kind Father has given you and I will later, as the punishment for all their children (Prov 3.11-12, Heb 12.5-8, Rev 3.19). If you were not the number of his beloved children - what a disgrace, what a curse! - You would be the number of convicts, as Augustine says: "He who does not cry in this world as pilgrims and strangers, can not rejoice in the other as a citizen of heaven. " If God Father sends you from time to time a cross will show, is no longer cares for you, is angry with you and considers you as strange and alien to their home and their protection, I look like bastard children, not deserve an inheritance from his father, or are not worthy of your care and corrections (+ Heb 12.7 to 8).
[For the disciples of a Crucified God]
Friends of the Cross, the disciples of a crucified God: The mystery of the Cross is a mystery unknown to the Gentiles, rejected by the Jews (1 Cor 1.23), and despised by the heretics and bad Catholics, but is the great mystery you have to learn in the practice of the school of Christ, and that only in your school can learn. Seek in vain in all schools of antiquity any philosopher who has taught. Listen to the great St. Paul, who returned from the third heaven, where he learned the mysteries hidden from angels, says he does not know or want to know nothing but Jesus crucified (1 Cor 2.2). Rejoice, then, you poor fool, and you, humble woman without talent nor knowledge: if you know suffer with joy, you know more than any doctor of the Sorbonne, who can not suffer as well as you (+ Mt 11.25).
[To the members of Jesus Christ]
[27] You are members of Jesus Christ (1 Cor 6.15, 12.27, Ephesians 5.30). What an honor! But what need is there to experience it! If the head is crowned with thorns (Mt 27.29) members will be crowned with roses? If the Head is scorned and covered with mud on the road to Calvary "will be covered members of perfumes on a throne? If the head has no place to stand (8.20) "Members may rest between feathers and duvets? It would be an unprecedented monstrosity. No, no, my dear Companions of the Cross, be not deceived: those Christians that you see everywhere, fashionably dressed, extremely sensitive, proud and cocky to a fault, are not true disciples of Jesus crucified. And if you think otherwise, ofenderíais to the head crowned with thorns and the truth of the Gospel. Oh, my God, how many caricatures of Christians who claim to be members of the Saviour, are its most treacherous persecutors, as with the hand while making the sign of the Cross, are actually your enemies! If you really
guides you the spirit of Jesus Christ and if you live the same life as the head crowned with thorns, do not expect nothing but thorns, whips, nails, in a word, cross it is necessary that the pupil is treated as the master and the member and the Head (Jn 15 20).
